About Us
| | Michael and Kit Gardiner, who reside in Heber City, Utah, founded Stencil Me In Design in November, 2004. They first saw the excitement surrounding this great product at a group craft gathering. Kit has always had a love of the written word and has been fascinated with the way words connect to create expressions that motivate and inspire people. With that in mind, Michael and Kit endeavored to make that passion a form of decorating. From their basement emerged a vinyl lettering company that has provided hope for so many of their goals. They decided that the best way to market their ideas was to share them with friends at an open house. The first one was a financial failure, but from it came 3 future bookings. From there it sprang to life and has been growing ever since. Our talented consultants take their ideas and visions and help our customers make a statement, literally, in their homes. The company continues to grow and we hope to watch it fill the homes of people everywhere with inspiring words that offer perspective, provide peace, and simply make life a little sweeter.
What is it?
Vinyl lettering is a form of decorating that is easy and simple to apply directly to your wall. You can also apply them to wood, tile, glass, mirrors, and a variety of other things. They are very thin pieces of vinyl with a light adhesive backing. They come with a transfer tape (similar to masking tape) over the top of them. They transfer on much like a rub on. You easily peel off the backing, stick it on your wall, rub it on with a credit card and peel off the transfer tape. It all comes off in one swoop- not letter by letter. So easy! Vinyl lettering is best used on a smooth surface. It does apply to light to medium textured walls. Heavily textured walls may not have enough surface to adhere to, and therefore you may not be entirely happy with the appearance and/or the duration of the lettering. It does not easily apply to oil based paints; however, it is possible by removing each letter individually and applying by hand. It is washable and removable, but not reusable.
